Experience Designer

About

I'm so lucky I get to do what I love.

So I work every day to be better at it — for myself
and for the people that benefit from my work.

I'm so lucky I get to do what I love. So I work every day to be better at it - for myself and for the people that benefit from my work.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and studied Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art and Design. In 2012, I packed my things into the trunk of my car, and my best friend and I drove 17 hours non-stop to NYC where I began working as an experience designer. In 2018, I moved to Seattle to work for Facebook.

I now live in Capitol Hill with my fiance and my 2 cats. My hobbies besides design are reading (seriously, I read alot) and learning to be a better illustrator.

I've been doing digital and experience design almost my entire career and I've now started to delve into product and service design and I find that I really love and enjoy working on solving those types of problems; big, hairy problems that require lots of research, prototyping, and testing but ultimately lead to a solution that is useful, meaningful, and relevant.

As a person of color from a low-income background, I've always had a passion for solving problems in a way that makes life easier for anyone with any background.  At this point in my career, I know that it matters less how beautiful something is, and more if it solved a problem in a feasible, useful, and most importantly, inclusive way.
